Hi, I'm David Gallacher, a professional wedding photographer based in Taupo New Zealand but originally from the UK. I've called NZ home for over 20 years now, where I live with my amazing wife Val who is a full time School Teacher. We have two awesome kids, Sian (15) and Eden (10). When I'm not behind the lens, you'll likely find me kayaking, mountain biking, or exploring the wild and rugged beauty this country has to offer.

For the past 6+ years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing over 100 weddings across New Zealand from windswept beaches to forest hideaways, mountain peaks to starlit valleys. I specialize in capturing love stories in extraordinary locations, often far from the beaten path. There's something magical about documenting a couple’s connection beneath the stars or in the heart of nature raw, real, and unforgettable.

My style is documentary-led, focused on telling your story as it naturally unfolds. I believe the best photos happen in the moments you don’t plan for the laughter, the happy tears, the quiet glances, and the wild dance floor moves. I’ll give a little direction when needed, but mostly, I’ll let the day breathe, capturing the candid magic as it happens.
